I'm not completely sure about the Luke interpretation at the beginning, but the article has several good points. I found the comments at the end interesting too.

A pretty good article for those that want to understand how they reconcile their faith and being able to protect themselves and their families.

From the comments though there is one statement that is the absolute truth more than anything else that can be said about how it is our society is breaking down so quickly.

"The gun violence the United States is growing numb to is largely a result of young people growing up neglected and un-affirmed in families that suffer from the negative influences of divorce, professional preoccupation, and virtual reality.
