Default looking for advice on .44 ammo for home protection

I recently picked up a model 29 that I'd like to used in my 1st floor biometric safe for that zone weapon. My first floor has a lot of masonry stone and I would like a recommendation so I can minimize collateral damage.

.44 Specials. You don't need the recoil or muzzle blast of the .44 mag for HD. The specials will get the job done but be much more controllable.

Federal makes a .44 Special with a 200gr lead SWC-HP. That's what I carried in my S&W 696. Ya really don't need a magnum round as most bullets are meant for critters tougher than people and go thru with no more effect than hardball. Plus ya don't need to blow yer eardrums out.

Speer has a couple Gold Dot .44magnum loads and a .44 special loads designed for personal defense. If you have a barrel less than 4" Speer offers the short barrel .44mag #23971. The normal .44mag load is #23972. Th e.44special load is #23980.
