What game can I hunt with my Mossberg 835?

I got a Mossberg 835 with a 3.5 inch chamber. So far, I've only hunted Spring turkey with it. It came with the following chokes: Full, Improved, X-Full, and Ulti-Full.
What game have you taken with this gun or a gun similar to this one? I hunt game in Northeast Pennsylvania. I'm interested in coyotes, bear, deer, and small game. I want to use this gun to it's max potential, so what game is this gun, with these choke capable of hunting?

Small game you can use birdshot, coyotes you can use #4 buckshot, deer and bear you would have to use a single projectile slug in your area, your barrel on an 835 probably says no slugs. So bear and deer are out. Buy a slug barrel and your back in.

so long as you have the correct barrel (some mossberg 835s are over bored) you can shoot anything and hunt any game. if you are unsure you can maybe call the company or email them with your serial number but you may need to buy a slug barrel.

if you are looking for a good factory slug for bear i like the brenneke black magic magnums. whatever you shoot just make sure you pattern it appropriately.

Go find a cantilever mount, rifled barrel for it, mount a 1.5X4 power shotgun scope on it and use it for deer, bear.

I have the same gun, and you can hunt and harvest anything in PA with it. I have a 28" barrel that I use for anything that flys, geese, ducks, doves, etc. I have a 24" barrel that I use for turkey, small game, predators, etc. And I also have a rifled barrel which might be 22" or so that I use for deer and bear, its the cantiliver barrel with a scope mounted up top. I use a couple different chokes and different ammo and with this one gun I can do it all here in PA.

To be clear, its not my PRIMARY shotgun for anything listed above. I mainly keep it because it makes a hell of a backup for me.

My neighbor just asked me the same question recently. Midway offers a rifled slug barrel with Cantilever mount for as low as $220. I'm sure you can find them even cheaper but this is just one option.

Pheasant, ducks, geese, woodcock, deer, coyotes, bear, etc. The world is your oyster.

Right ammo + correct barrel = endless possibilities

ANY game that is legal to hunt in PA is legal during the proper season.... HOWEVER if you hunt waterfowl you MUST have no more than 3 shells in the gun at any time and it has to be plugged to not allow more than that. Also, steel shot is required. Check the regs book... spells it out pretty good for ya...

Small game regs are clear that a 3 round limit must be followed for shotguns for all small game species.
