Default Deer Season is not over...PAFOA 2A Hunt (Airport Area)

I thought that it might be fun to get a group together for a PAFOA muzzleloader hunt. It the spirit of PA tradition, I thought a group drive morning/afternoon would be fun.

    1. In accordance with all applicable game laws.
    2. As we are driving, I would ask that everyone involved wear at least 250 sq/in of orange.
    3. Radios would be used for safety/coordination, but not to communicate location of game
    4. Senior hunters welcome, I will cover drives as necessary
    5. Junior/New hunters welcome as well
    6. Safety briefing to start

Public Land Hunt Possible Locations - All within 15 minutes of Pitt Airport

    SG 117
    SG 189 (Hunted last year)
Hillman State Park (Hunted Last Year)
    Raccoon State Park (Never Been)
I would be open to your private hotspot/personal property if you have written permission and want a few guests

    Dates (Tentative)
    January 1st or 2nd
    Time TBD

If interested please respond to what day works best....

I would love to participate if it were feasible for me to get out there. I'd consider staging a SEPA hunt on my own except that you can't walk a 1/4 mile without seeing orange on public land here in Bucks Co!

Would be great to have you out, long drive for sure. I feel relatively lucky as the pressure in 2A is almost non-existant for the Muzzle loader season. Even on public land, there will be few if any hunters. Between 117 and Hillman its a bit over 6000 acres.

I have been trying to organize a hunt for a few years, never much luck but it does not hurt to try. I enjoy driving with the the right group of people. I am a loner for the rest of deer season.

Never know until you ask Might be a farmer with an overpopulation of deer out there.

If your hot spot is the Pittsburgh Airport property I would really love to hear from you...There has been a nice 10 point feeding every evening this week on the east side of 376. Too many does to count. It is a shame that they don't open the west side of the property back up to open hunting.

Do we have a set date on this yet? Trying to convince the wife I need more hunting time and that it is the perfect way to start a new year! I'm thinking the 2nd would be my best option, but still need "the nod".

Took the smoke pole out for two days this week so far and no luck. Jumped a big 10, but turns out his speed was significantly faster than me shouldering, setting the trigger, and getting ready for a shot! If it weren't for all those pesky trees, I may have had a chance for a shot!

I would agree the 2nd looks like the day. Let me know if you are interested.
