    Default bullet seating 30-06

I just started reloading for my 30-06 bolt action, my 1st loads i used hornady amax and everything went awesome, i just bought some 110 grain jacketed plinking bullets to shoot cheap, the problem is they won't seat, they are crushing or folding the neck of the case, i had zero problems seating the hornadys, these not so much. i have a full length resize and a neck resize die. these bullets are not a boat tail either, what am i doing wrong?

Either your seating die is crimping before the bullet is fully seated, or (more likely) the inside of the case neck isn't beveled enough to deal with the flat-bottom bullet.

How do i resolve either issue, i am using a lee breach lock press with the lee ultimate die set with the lee case trimming done on the press. I can't even set a bullet head on the case without it falling off, the Amaxs rested nicely on them while i seated them.

You could get a Lee universal flaring die and flare a tad bit.

After trimming make sure you chamfer and debur the mouth.

if i can figure it out, i will attach a pic of my trimmed case. I really want these cheapo heads to load since well.... they are allot cheaper to go out and have fun with

Over crimping will do that. I did it with my 50bmg which is the same as a 3006 but a tad bigger.

Good answers all, nothing to add except how to check it. I'd back the seating die out a turn, lower the seating stem a tad and try to seat a bullet without crimp. If it seats ok then the problem is applying the crimp. If the case deforms then I'd look at the trim and chamfer. I like to be uniform when troubleshooting so I'd stick to using cases being sized the same way. Early on I think I had the problem of not having a decent chamfer, and bullets off center when seating.
It ain't what they call you, it's what you answer to.

Yeah for boat tailed bullets, no real chamfer is required.
Copper clad projectiles start into the case easier than lead bullets.
Flat base lead NEEDs a chamfer

I use this tool to chamfer my cases.
