    Default Certification for OC Spray and baton?

    I have an act 235 but never got 'certified' for baton or oc (pepper spray). does anyone know the laws on this? in pa u dont need a cert for a civilian, so what about carrying it on the job? would that be company specific?

    Pepper spray and/or baton certifications can be obtained by finding certified instructors. Your employer may pay for these, or you may have to pay for them yourself. The certifications are a safety net, showing that you were properly trained in the use of pepper spray or the baton.

    What "law" are you looking for?

    I can't say if it is a law, but for the sake of liability you probably should be certified. We receive annual certs. for OC, baton a,d handcuffing. Most recent my employer as included hand to hand.
