My wife and i recently moved to the area 7 months ago and absolutely love it here . I like all of you enjoy my guns I just looked at the LTCF aplication and I'm in need of one reference as I only have one friend of 26 year's living in PA. In addition if anyone would like to have a good guy to go target shooting with feel free to contact me.

They don't have to be in PA from what I recall. Mine weren't.

I used an out of state reference and mine went through. None of my references where called.

Mrs.K's references were from Florida and Louisiana...

State law largely stipulates the application and process and does not require references to be residents of Pennsylvania or your county. Even though a Sheriff may "require" it, many will accept your application with out of state references once you submit it because they are aware that requirement is bogus.

I would talk to some forum members from Carbon County (where you live?) and see if they have had applications accepted with out of state references. Or just submit it with an out of state reference. If he denies it you can go straight to court and you will win. If he refuses to accept it then it might be a little more complicated.

My references were not called in Bucks County. I do however know someone in Chester County who was used as a reference, they were not called but instead got a visit from the Sheriff's office to ask about the LTCF applicant.

We don't need to list any in Berks. Great sheriff here.

The sheriff will not accept your app he wants Carbon county residents. I went threw the same shit 3 years ago. Welcome to Albrightsville its a small village and be careful at the stops sign people do not stop. I go shooting alot when its warm and reload my own ammo.
