    Yankee Marshal.

Pretty good thoughts. I have to say I agree most of what he says.

only thing I can think about when I see trump talking about how he is pro 2A is the fact that just 15 years ago (long time but also not long ago) he had a completely different idea on gun control,

"I generally oppose gun control, but I support the ban on assault weapons and I support a slightly longer waiting period to purchase a gun. With today’s Internet technology we should be able to tell within 72-hours if a potential gun owner has a record.
Source: The America We Deserve, by Donald Trump, p.102 , Jul 2, 2000"

which honestly speaks more to the fact that he is a politician and will only say what he thinks will get him votes. How long will he be pro 2a when it comes to passing more gun control when a bill to lets say help companies that he used to have ties to need something passed to help them out.

I have no doubt he would throw the second amendment under the bus as soon as it benefits him in some way

FWIW - I don't know about you but I have changed my mind on a number of things over 15 years. You have never changed your mind?

I have and i get that (i would have to say i used a similar argument you just proposed against someone who brought up Clintons change of mind on marriage) but i do believe core beliefs are not ones that change that easily, don't forget up until i think it was this year trump was also a registered dem.

*edit* im neither a supporter of trump or pretty much anyone running. and im not saying i disagree with his current stance, i just like to point out the fact that in 2000 he did say he supported an "assault weapons ban", just like he supported the Clintons, and how he was up until very recently a registered democrat. mostly for the fact that people try to say he is "different" and "not a career politician" take and do with said info how you will, does it mean i am correct about thinking he would flip his mind if it suits him probably not, thats just how i feel based on the info provided in his life and as of recent times

If Trump gets to the general election and is running against a Democrat I will vote for him and that is the only circumstance in which I will vote for him. And then I will watch and hope he means at least a little bit of the stuff he is saying now.

And if he doesn't, then lets run a serious candidate against him in 2020.

He has also said, more recently what an assault weapon is.
And he used the correct definition. Select fire with fully automatic fire.

I do not agree with prohibiting full automatic weapons, but that is hardly a position most people would disagree with today.

    Narcissist Personality Disorder
    Definition
    By Mayo Clinic Staff
Narcissistic personality disorder is a mental disorder in which people have an inflated sense of their own importance, a deep need for admiration and a lack of empathy for others. But behind this mask of ultraconfidence lies a fragile self-esteem that's vulnerable to the slightest criticism.

A narcissistic personality disorder causes problems in many areas of life, such as relationships, work, school or financial affairs. You may be generally unhappy and disappointed when you're not given the special favors or admiration you believe you deserve. Others may not enjoy being around you, and you may find your relationships unfulfilling.

It's pretty obvious that "the Donald" will do/say anything to further his agenda -- which is simply himself. He actually sees no contradiction in his contradictions -- it's all a game to him. He's playing us -- and everyone else. Unfortunately this trait is common among politicians, defense attorneys, and corporate executives. Most are much better at hiding it.

As for his business acumen -- he inherited millions and has had absolute control over private, family owned businesses -- some of which have been in and out of bankruptcy over the years -- though as he repeatedly and arrogantly points out, he hasn't filed for bankruptcy personally. But he has left a lot of his suppliers "holding the bag," and I doubt he ever considered repaying any of them when the business subsequently regained profitability. YMMV, but I don't see this guy as the leader of the free world.

I don't see any of them as the leader of the "free" world but we have to pick from them.

I'm personally tired of the same old shit and the same career politicians and insiders. I'm at the point I would vote for Joe the Plumber or Ted Nugent if they were leading the polls.

The experts keep being proved wrong on what the people want, think and will do. I don't even know a lot of these experts, where they got their credentials and the fact that many of them are twenty something hipsters

Actually Joe might be a better choice. Ted, not so much. At least there's a chance that Joe knows what he doesn't know and might seek out people who really know what they're talking about. Many times when I've made a decision based on "it has to be better than this," I've found that it isn't. After all, that's how we got "hope and change." Move toward something better, not just away from something bad -- it really can get worse.

Obama was a community organizer and he's a socialist. Trump and Carson at the least have the same or similar positions as us on the issues. That is enough for me to believe they can at least do better.

I'm not convinced Cruz isn't just saying the right things and he also has "experience" questions surrounding him. Rubio? No thanks.
