Default EZ Pull & Save Junkyard in New Ringold Now a Gun-Free Zone

    Hey, all.

Just a heads up about the big EZ Pull & Save junkyard up in New Ringgold. As of sometime in October, they are now a gun free zone. No signs posted, but I was informed by a rather surly gate guard that guns weren't allowed, and after a phone call with one of the owners, it is confirmed. From what I was told, their liability insurance pressured them into doing it, though that could just be a convenient excuse. Signs are supposedly coming.

The A-Z U-Pull-It Used Auto Parts junkyard down in Shoemakersville still seems to have no problem with carry, though. Smaller, but the people are nicer.

    Happy junkyard crawling!

So was the guard asking everyone that came in if they had a gun, or did you ask him?

That's one of the last places I'd want to go around here without carrying. Right behind Penn State Schuylkill Campus.

    You are correct.

And by "guard" I meant the guy usually manning the counter. He's always had the attitude of a grumpy toll booth guard, hence the term.

How are you supposed to protect yourself against the junkyard dogs?

I ran into that up at Harry's U-Pull-It in Allentown. Their excuse was that they had people who wanted to be billy badasses towards the person with the gun, and would prefer to avoid the issue entirely.

Ultimately, if you're going to be crawling around under/in/around a beat down car in a junkyard, maybe OC is not a great idea for reasons other than social grace.

Some people carry 1 generation guns (hipoint / Glock ), so how they are treated matters less.
