Gotta have a Serial Number on it. There may be other requirements but I've been told, No Serial Numbers, you're gonna get hassled.

I would follow the required markings the same as when you make a SBR or a SBS..

Generally, any gun manufactured, imported, or made on and after January, 2002 must have the manufacturers information engraved, cast, stamped by impression, at a minimum depth of .003″ with a height no smaller than 1/16″ on the frame, receiver, or barrel. I used my initials, and town & state on the barrel. Serial # again could be your initials followed by 0001, 0002, 0003 should you desire to do 3 builds.

The required information on an SBR is the model (if such one exists), caliber or gauge, and the manufacturer’s name (or recognized abbreviation). Also for a domestically made (SBR) the city and state (or recognized abbreviation), where you as the manufacturer made the firearm.

I'm pretty sure I can make a gun for my own use without putting a serial number on it.

I just can't give it away or sell it.

AND I know that if John Law inspects it, Immana get hassled until I explain I made the gun.

And you think the hassle will stop at that point?

    Seriously?

If I were carrying it as a carry piece ( not something I ever plan to do) I'm pretty sure it would be confiscated and we would have our test case.

Currently I only carry pieces that are in the illegal database.
