Default looking at a 380 to pocket carry

I am looking at a Ruger custom and a body guard with a laser. The bodyguard is 59 dollars more but comes with 2 mags.I shot them both and I like the trigger of the Ruger better, It might just be in my head but I think if I had to sale them the Bodyguard would bring back more money. Thoughts?

Are you buying it for protection or for resale value?

Seems silly to choose getting a few more dollars somewhere down the road over choosing the one you feel would best suit your self defense needs.

Other than that, I have no input. I have a KelTec P3AT and a Colt Pony .380. I've never shot the Rugers.

    They both suck.
Too me lasers are 99% useless and not worth the extra coin when it comes down too it.

The Ruger has a better trigger and if I had to choose one that would be it.

I can't speak to the Bodyguard, but if you're looking at the Ruger LCP, then I felt it was a quality pistol. Recoil is a little snappy so expect to only put a box or two of shells through it one outing. Maybe you're more resilient to pain than I am. I think the most I ever did was 3 boxes. While we had them, we didn't really have any issues with them.
I forgot how much I missed the slang from the 70's and 80's: "Bite me, dig?"

As mentioned, these small 380's have snappy recoil. I would stay away from the bodyguard with laser - it is a terrible and cheap laser! If you are looking at the bodyguard w/o the laser, should be a decent gun. The lcp is solid all around in my opinion. I have owned both, still have the lcp and carry it when I need a gun to drop in my pocket. I got rid of the bodyguard because of the horrible laser. Good luck!

Probably the only advantage to the bodyguard is it's size and that is all. It's not very accurate or fun to shoot and the laser is pretty much useless.

If you are looking for a small 380 pistol, look no further than the Sig P238. More expensive, but when you look at what you get, it isn't that bad. The LCP's come with crappy sights (no sights on early models), while the P238 comes with nice night sights. What is the point of a carry gun with no night sights?

I had my moments of thinking I needed a laser for a pocket 380, but consistent practice has been more beneficial to me, even at 25 yards. There are more expensive options, but the kel tec p3at has worked well for me from the beginning.
    ...and they have a plan...

We have the 2nd generation lcp's. (have the small raised rear sight)
Disliked the bodyguard alot when I shot it. I can't say the lcp is way better but enough that we bought them instead. We Installed hogue grips and use extended mags and they are tolerable now
