Have you tried one? Call a few ranges that rent guns and try one out. Best way to tell. Won't cost you much and you'll know for sure before you purchase one.

With all the craziness going on in the world, I think the pendulum is swinging back towards high Cap guns. That's why my choice is the Glock 26, best of both worlds, concealable and the capacity of your choice

And it's a great shooter to boot

Here's my take on the 43 vs shield incase you haven't seen it: http://forum.pafoa.org/showthread.php?t=280729

As for 19 vs 43 I currently own and carry both and both are modded to suit me. For the 43 I added XS big dots and the 19 has hackathorn sights. The 43 is carried when the 19 is too big like work or basketball shorts/tshirt and together both guns make an amazing team.
Do I shoot the 43 as well as the 19? Not quite, I can make hits at 50 yards on steel with my 19 and I haven't even tried with the 43 but I feel really comfortable with it at what is considered self defense range.
Go head, skin it. Skin that smoke wagon and see what happens.

I have a few guns, but for some reason I have this hitch where I don't like to get them dirty. So I carry only one of them all the time. I have some serious issues with this.

You would hate to see my cabinet then. There are about 2 dozen dirty rifles and maybe half a dozen pistols that need to be cleaned right now.
