    Maybe, but some places are just shitholes. If we parked a cop in section 8 housing 24/7 I could see it happening.

    There should be some sort of conduct policy that states an officer must leave a search scene the way they found it. This includes holding a weapon for officer safety.

    I would certainly argue with the officer that the weapon is best left in the holster. "I'll take off my belt as you hold the holster.... Place the holstered weapon in your car".

    Anything more is cop-dickery and should not be tolerated by citizens. I am a citizen God damit!!!! Not a subject!

    Like I said, I'd tell him to remove it. I'd explain the holster operation if necessary but I'm not reaching for my gun even on command from a cop.
