Default New lost or stolen bill includes notifying school

New bill introduced Sept. 4 (HB1519) would require reporting a lost or stolen firearm to the school of any kids in which you have enrolled.

Would they also like to know if and when our kids eat their dinner too?

I'm sure some liberal bed-wetter thinks this is a good idea, but, if you think about it , it is scary! Why do they want to have the school notified? So they can persecute the child. Persecute the child, and you teach the lesson "Guns bad!" It's called 'shaming' and it is wrong!!!!!!

Straight up it's a gross over reach of their responsibility. The more hoops they can force honest citizens to jump through, the more power they have.

Or, as mentioned in another place in cycberspace,
... Lemme guess, under the presumption that the kid might be the one that stole it so that the kid can be searched without reasonable cause at the school?

Schools have already reported parents for sending their kids with "unhealthy'' foods in their lunches.

This is exactly why we don't need any new laws in regards to the theft or loss of firearms. It starts out innocent enough and quickly gets out of control. The is how the left wins, incrementally.

I think the Bill is overreaching. I have never quite understood how one loses a gun, but I do understand stolen. Either way, a gun owner who loses possession of his gun has to alert his kid's school authorities. That means the the authorities will observe the child more than they might otherwise. I see that a surveillance without just cause and that just does not seem right to me.
