Interesting. I remember way back talking to the guy from Ruger.
He told me , you'll never see the 454 in a super blackhawk as the gun isn't strong enough.
    I assume he was wrong...................

I saw them on the episode of rugers inside and out on Monday, they do appeal to me having always wanted a freedom arms revolver but never actually seeing one in person is a bummer. These actually look a lot like the FA. I've never fired a .454 or .480 and I don't reload yet but they looked to be some heavy hitters. I'll stick to my .41 magnum, it's hard enough to pay $1-$2 per round if it can be found.

Go head, skin it. Skin that smoke wagon and see what happens.

Back when the 454 was still wild cat territory, people used to convert super Blackhawks to it. I never shot one, but I remember it being done pretty regularly with out issue. I've run some heavy thumper 44mag loads through mine and it has been fine.

I'm putting a deposit on one today through Tanner's. They're going for 750 from Lipsey's so that sold me right there. So much less $$ than an FA or BFRs for that matter

I believe they made them with 5 shot cylinders.
If you are talking about the same thing , I am thinking of.
As that was how I seen it was being done back when.
Of course that is how they "ruger" are doing it now.
Seems they could have been doing it all along as someone else was.

I just found it amusing the ruger guy said this and now we have one of sorts.
Meaning I do like a SBH with the SBH grip. The bisley grip, not so much.
At the time I was really hankering for one but that was a lot of years ago and I got my fix.
ruger missed a sale but I'm sure it won't hurt them any.
Just never say never I suppose.

If I remember correctly I think you're right about the five shot cylinders. I always wanted one of the freedom ones. I got to shoot one when I was in high school, friend of my father's, and I really liked it back then. Only problem was it cost more than my car at the time.

Someone let me know when Ruger starts chambering the Super Blackhawks in .500 Linebaugh Magnum like Bowen's custom shop has been doing for the past 30 years or so.

Probably as likely as getting a chambering in 500 JRH. I wish
