Default Gun Violence Tax passes Unanimously

    http://www.theblaze.com/stories/2015...ut-of-seattle/

The 8-0 vote Monday afternoon on the tax that will be imposed on those purchasing firearms will provide revenue for gun violence prevention programs. The city expects the tax to raise between $300,000 and $500,000 each year.

“Every day, the general public pays the enormous cost of gun violence. Gun violence is a public health crisis in our city and our nation,” Council President Tim Burgess said in a statement. “City government can and must pursue innovative gun safety measures that save lives and save money. As it has in other areas of policy, Seattle can lead the way in local solutions.

“A gun violence tax will give us revenue to provide broad-based benefits through research and prevention programs,” he added.
Expect more areas of the country to follow suit.

Yup. Again, they punish the innocent for the actions of the guilty.

Wow I bet the bloods, cripts, and MS13 will make sure to pay their fair share by clamming all their ILLEGAL firearm purchases when they file this year.

I am tired of paying both physically and monetarily for the poor choices, lack of morality, and the crimes of others. Maybe one day all gun owners will collectively get off their asses join together and stop this further assault on our rights as well as our pockets.

It will put the gunshops in the city limits out of business. Everyone else will just drive to the burbs to buy their ammo / firearms.

Right in to the lying bastards who passed it's pockets. One thing about Lib. politicians we all know that funds are for their personal use or to buy votes for later.

Wow, screw Washington and screw Seattle.

This is discriminatory to the poor - who still have just as much of a right to keep and bear arms as the more well off.

    Making crime illegal didn't work.
    Regulating firearms didn't work.
Any guesses as to how well the 'gun violence tax' will work?
