Re: Why gun owners should never visit NJ (or why EZPass sucks)
Is it not the duty of the toll attendant to report people who blow the toll? Absent that, I don't see how this passes. But you're right, as you mentioned in another post, so many will choose to pay the $50 because their time is worth more.
They charge a monthly or quarterly fee too if you have a card on file.
I'm too am guilty of that at some point or another.
Unrelated... I received a parking ticket from phila parking auh. in a spot for which I had a valid permit. Happened to have a dusting of snow on the car, so the lazy meter maid did not check my window for decal. On the ticket it had the meter number of the spot behind me, and the address of the next block. The fact that they can't simply scan a meter or type in the meter number and have the info prepopulated leaves me dumbfounded. In the end it was only 1 phone call and it was resolved, but the anxiety of having to explain that to their employee gave me acida for an entire day.

Re: Why gun owners should never visit NJ (or why EZPass sucks)
I had the same issue driving by DC on the EZPass expressway. The system read my EZPass fine on the way down to Richmond, VA for the weekend. But on the way back to Pittsburgh it didn't read my EZPass. So they sent me a bill for like $1.50 toll and a $12.50 "administrative fee." I got the fee knocked down to like $3.00 after I proved that the fault was on their side (by pointing out that their system read my EZPass with no issue on a Friday but didn't read it on a Sunday).

7 demerits for non-payment of toll.

I wonder how reliable the transponders are? I called EZ Pass today about an issue with my account. While I was on the phone, the lady said she'd send me replacements for my two oldest transponders, because the batteries could be getting weak. I was surprised to hear they had batteries; I assumed they were passive devices.

Try contacting EZPass first. SometImes, if you just update your card and pay the actual toll, you may avoid the extra fee...

GL, I'm a little confused. You're talking about EZ pass and then about coins and receipts. Did you have an EZ pass transponder in that truck when the camera snapped your ass end?
Or you paid with coins and are just saying in general that EZPass sucks?

We were going to head to the beach this August but after this, I am going to try to talk the wife out of it.
