deer processing near Bensalem
I posted a comment to update a similar entry from 2011. Looking for someplace to process deer in Bensalem area. I can grind meat myself but the wife isnt too keen on me having a deer in the garage or doing butchering myself. I saw the one place they recommended does skinning and gives you various cuts and ground meat for $105 but they're out in Chester county. Trying to see if there was something closer to me that people have used. Someone mentioned a place behind Neshaminy mall but i don't think it's there anymore.

Bills Deer Processing is probably the closest. He's over by Neshaminy High School right off Rt 1. I used him years ago before I started processing my own deer.
Then there's Ely's in Newtown. I've heard good and bad about Ely, but I can't offer firsthand experience. I only use Ely for HSH donations.

I was trying to find Bills as this would definitely be closest, but I think he may no longer be there. I found his number (or what used to be the number) online so I'll give it a try.

He was there last season. He processed a deer for me. Has a walk in freezer and some forms to fill out and then he calls you to pickup. I think I paid $80 or $85 and he did a good job.

I would recommend Bill's. Kind of hard to find the first time, but definitely the closest to Bensalem. I try to process my own but time gets in the way, especially when we harvest multiple deer in one day. I will be spending a small fortune on the Jalapeno snack sticks this year

Thumbs Up for Ely's in Newtown! They do a nice job. No mystery cuts. Well packed and marked. The value added products, sticks & jerky are very tasty. I have used them and would do so in the future.

Is bills still open for business? Anybody have an idea of pricing for this year and a contact number or address?
