Help us a bit here by giving us the anticipated duration, budget and maximum allowable distance from home.

Confluence, PA, bike trail, river runs through it, Ohiopyle just down the bike path. Stay in a B & B, and enjoy the country air.

Gettysburg if you haven't been there for a while. Brand new visitor center that is outstanding. Check Round Top campground, they have cabins you can rent.

One of the great things about Carlisle is that with I-81 going N to S, and I-76 going E to W, you can go in any direction and be somewhere cool in a few hours. Go East, and head anywhere from Rehoboth Beach to Outerbanks, NC. (beats the snot out of the Jersey shore.) If kids are involved, Rehoboth has a fun boardwalk carnival that won't break the bank. If your up for a little history lesson, try VA Beach with a stop in Williamsburg and Jamestown. If you want to push it to maybe a couple more hours, then get to the OBX. Off of the beaten path so it's not so crowded and there's plenty of room to relax.

If the ocean isn't your thing, try Shanandoah NP straight down I-81 and hang a left on 33 in Harrisonburg, VA. Keep going uphill until you hit the peak, then head north on skyline drive to big meadows campground. You can stand out on an 800 foot cliff and watch the sunset, hike a few miles of the appalachian trail or just watch the deer and bear stroll through your campsite.

Go West, and your at Lake Erie in no time, but get a fishing license first, Field and Stream says it's one of the countries hot spots this summer. If you go North into Wellsboro be prepared to set your clock back 40 years. Show up in a BMW and you may get funny looks, but ride in on a Harley or driving a dirty old Suburban and people will treat you like you've lived there all your life.

Don't forget to keep us posted with an OC journal.

Is this a private party, or for the entire PAFOA membership? I guess in honor of the location I'd bring the New Castle Brown Ale, but I don't know if I'd make it to a hotel so there'd have to be room for a tent in the yard.
