REMINGTON 1911 R1 STAINLESS 45 ACP PISTOL .. Thoughts ? Opinions ?

I have a chance to pick up a new Remington 1911 R1 Stainless 45 ACP Pistol for a great price. I did some research and it seems to be a middle of the road 1911. Really have not read too many bad reviews. Like to get some opinions, pro's and con's. Thanks in advance.

My buddy likes his. I shot it and it was fine, although I have to admit to very little experience with 1911's. I hit what I aimed at and did not jam. That's pretty good right there

I could get it for 574.00 ... I thought that was a good price.

I haven't ever seen one at that price. It's basically a GI 1911 with an AL trigger and some kind of sights (???) that aren't GI. No lanyard loop and flat mainspring housing. Just mentioning that in case you want a true GI 1911. Frame is cast, too...not forged.

So for $500 it sounds like a good deal to me!
I have never shot one, but I've handled them in stores and thought they seemed nice.
I do know two of the Mods over on the Kahrtalk forum (both are 1911 guys) have them and they seem real happy with them.
