For over a decade Representative Daryl Metcalfe has stood watch over the freedoms of Pennsylvania citizens. While it would be difficult to separate which freedoms he is most passionate about, no one in Harrisburg would doubt the fact that our "right to bear arms" would be right at the top of his list. This passion for our freedoms and his uncompromising defense of them has led to numerous attempts to defeat him in each election cycle. This year is no different except perhaps for the despicable nature of the attacks upon his reputation and character.


Each year Rep. Daryl Metcalfe hosts the "Right to Bear Arms" rally at the state capitol. Each year guests include numerous members of the legislature and outstanding state and national gun rights advocates such as Larry Pratt of Gun Owners of America and Alan Gottlieb of Second Amendment foundation. This year the keynote speaker was Alan Keyes - Ronald Reagan's Ambassador.


Every day, every week (and sometimes every hour) of every year, Rep Metcalfe and his staff have kept and continue to keep us posted about the efforts of anti-gun activists and other anti-freedom activists to attack our rights.


Those who cherish freedom must never forget that anti-gun legislators, spearheaded by the Philadelphia legislative Caucus and Governor Rendell, turned the entire Pennsylvania House into a rarely held "Committee of the Whole" in an attempt to have Pennsylvania adopt dozens of radical anti-gun laws that have proven to be ineffective in fighting crime.


Daryl Metcalfe was THE legislator who organized opposition to Committee of the Whole. Months before the event, Daryl Metcalfe alerted the pro-gun grass roots leadership, we met in his office and planned strategy and developed talking points. Daryl worked with his peers to coordinate the counter attack. It was my honor to assemble the largest coalition of state and national gun rights organizations ever to oppose legislation in Harrisburg. Every single organization that we asked to join did so and cooperated fully. Our coalition presented a solid front with no cracks and it covered the entire spectrum of gun rights organizations.


The event went on for three days with Bloomberg's mayors, suspect reverends and other agitators cheerleading. Each time anti-rights legislation was introduced, Daryl got up and read the list of those organizations. Other legislators also got up and spoke against the legislation. Yes a large number of legislators R and D did a tremendous job of arguing against bad Philadelphia legislation and we defeated every single bill that Daryl got up against - usually by a wide margin. Dwight Evans lost his composure and engaged Daryl directly, something that is very much against protocol. What could have been a disastrous defeat, became a tremendous victory. Naturally, the media underreported it.


Daryl is also the leader in helping Pennsylvania resist the invasion of illegal aliens and in trying to stop the runaway budgets.


Greg Murphy puts it eloquently: "The Pennsylvania Pork Barrel, Boss Tweed Rendell, managed to rape taxpayers with his tax and spend budgets. Fast Eddy is shoving a financial disaster down our throats. In addition to all the egregious features of this budget, it really irks me to think we will be paying tolls on I-80, and higher tolls on the Turnpike and elsewhere, so the slugs in Philadelphia won't have to pay a little more for their bus tickets.


Socialism in action. Imagine how bad it would be if Daryl Metcalfe hadn't been in there fighting Pork Barrel Eddy every inch of the way."

It has been said that, “The price of liberty is eternal vigilance.” I have realized this truth during my service in the political arena. My work to defend our freedom by fighting for less government spending, less debt and less taxation has created a target on my back for liberals in both major parties.


In this year’s primary election, my challenger received most of her campaign funds from the same liberals who support taking more of your hard earned money to grow government while they tear down marriage, endorse abortion, push gun control instead of crime control, and argue for illegal alien amnesty. The result was the most vindictive, lying and deceptive campaign ran against me to date.


We were blessed with a decisive victory in the primary and I need your help now as we prepare for a battle in November. An activist Butler County judge placed a liberal Democratic challenger on the ballot after the County Election Bureau determined that he did not have enough write-in votes to qualify based on the criteria they established.
