Moving from Massachusetts to Waynsboro
In Mass we must apply at the local police station. If I am reading correctly when we move I need to apply at the Sheriff's office?
It also mentioned that the fee is a total of $20.00? We pay $100.00.
Thanks!!

Find the website for the Sheriff of the county you are moving to. Most will have more information and the form to download so you can fill it out ahead of time. Some Sheriffs will have hours posted when they accept LTCF applications.
It's a pretty simple process. Submit the application to the clerk, pay the fee, have your picture taken and they run a background check on you. At least in my county they do it all right there in one go, some counties may be different.

Waynesboro is in Franklin county so you get your ltcf through Sherriff of Franklin county.
State law states the cost is $20 for a 5 year permit.
Here is the link you need. I don't deal with this sheriff so I cant comment about how pro2A he is or isn't.

Re: Moving from Massachusetts to Waynsboro
No worries there knight0334 - We were suppose to move to Maryland, but I refused. It may be worse than Mass!
Life Member NRA, Commonwealth 2A, GOA, GOAL (Mass NRA) - We are not the typical Massachusetts voter - that is one of the reasons we are moving.
I cannot believe it is only 20.00!!!
It will be weird to see what we can own in a free State. Up here we have so many rules and regulations - We have a State list of guns we can purchase and an attorney general list of guns we can purchase - some are on one and not the other - the gun needs to be on both lists to buy.

Re: Moving from Massachusetts to Waynsboro
I know - We look forward to being in a free State.
I need to figure out the differences in what I can purchase in MA vs Pa. Lot of brands will not do business with Mass because of all the red tape.
I will also be looking on the internet to see if there are gun ranges/clubs in the Waynsboro area.

Re: Moving from Massachusetts to Waynsboro
$20, no fingerprints, one page (per statute) application, and some counties have you in and out before your tires can get cold.
To the best of my knowledge (and I expect I'll quickly be skewered if I'm wrong) PA has no firearm model list/restrictions - you wanna open carry a .50 Desert Eagle, have at it (and bless you). Some CLEOs can be stingy with NFA signatures, but that's not the state's doing.
I think you'll like it here in America...
