    Default Dan Wesson 1911's

Thoughts/opinions? Looking for a new 1911, and these always have caught my eye. I am actually thinking about getting the DW "Specialist", I already have a railed 1911 in the form of a SA TRP "Operator", nice pistol, but I honestly like the looks of the DW better....

I have 3 DW 1911's and every time I pick up a Wilson or Brown I shake my head and say where is the extra $1000-2000 going.

Quality is superb and mine have run without issues (PT-C Bobtail, 9 and 45 Gaurdians). I think they are worth the few hundred more than a SA TRP

Only $1700 for your own Specialist; can't tell you if it's worth it because -->

It was... OK... I was really expecting it to blow me away with it being $1500 at the time...

And although it may be blasphemy, the 1911 that felt so sinfully delicious in my hands that I've lusted after one for years is a Sig Scorpion.

If I had $1000 in disposable income....

I always said that when someone bought anything more than a RIA, Regent, or PT. Truth is you're buying hand made precision that 1:100,000 shooters will ever see or need. It's a 'want'...like...and what you're willing to spend thing with most 1911's shooters I've met and watched shoot that own these hyper priced 1911's. I made it through my 1911 phase without ever spending more than $900 on one.

If you like it and got the green, then go for it.
BCM and Glock...for a bigger pile of 'cold dead hands' brass.

When I was looking at 1911's I was seriously considering a Dan Wesson. But then I picked up a S&W 1911 e series pistol and went with that one. Still think I couldn't have gone wrong with either. Just the Smith had more going for it at a lower price point.

The Dan Wesson Guardian 9mm is going to be my next 1911. I have been thinking of getting it for a while but have found a couple of others I liked more, but since I have them now, the DW is next.

I love Dan Wesson 1911s. I've owned a Valor and currently own a Guardian in 9mm (selling to put the money toward a custom order from DW). Really great 1911s for the price, no doubt about it.

I have plenty of DW Revolvers and can't seem to stop buying them. I already have a Ruger SR1911 in 45 ACP and like it a lot, my next and probably only additional 1911 purchase will be a Dan Wesson Razorback in 10MM. I have been wanting a 10MM for a Long Long Time. Have not handled a DW in 1911 but glad to hear the positive reports.
