Default Kentucky police shooting - officer attacked with a flagpole

Here we go again - perp grabs a flagpole, cop pulls his gun, perp charges the cop and starts hitting him, cop fires two shots, perp dies, witnesses cry that the cop didn't have to kill him.

Good shoot. Don't bring a flag pole to a gun fight. Don't assault an officer with a potentially deadly melee weapon.

So the cop gunned down the guy for expressing his 1st amendments rights by waving a flag?

I am sure the usual crowd of cops can do no wrong well be around shortly to explain why the officer had no choice.....

But seriously, I think most of us would have shot sooner than he did. In addition from non verbal cues it looks like he did not aggravate the situation.

I would like to see his body cam because it Looked like he stumbled back as he made the shots, although without sound it Is hard to tell. Difficult to shoot & fall & a hard thing to train for.

Also: dead is dead. Clearly he was dead when he was loaded into the ambulance, EMS should have never transported.

So should EMS have covered the body and called the ME/coroner's office?

Don't these cops know that black lives matter?

All lives matter unless, of course, they don't.

I don't care if you're drunk, or have mental health issues, or can't speak English, if you're attacking me with anything, including a flagpole, my primary concern is to stop the attack.
