once fire brass
I have once fired brass that I'm saving and eventually going to sell what I have is 223/5.56 NATO and 9mm brass casings. My question is how much does once fired brass casings in those calibers go for? And also should I get a tumbler and clean them and deprime them before I go and sell them? Thanks for all info then

Re: once fire brass
9mm goes for about $30/1000 thats tumbled but still has spent primers. .223 roughly $40/500 in the same condition.
You may find me dead in a ditch one day. But by God, I'll be lying in a pile of brass.

Re: once fire brass
Prices are all over the map, depending on demand and the vagaries of fate.
Don't invest money in the process of "cleaning them up" or getting them ready.
That will be money lost.
Do your prce research on reloading forums.
And there is always trading....

Re: once fire brass
Personally myself I would not bother with cleaning them as most if not all reloaders have their own method. There are companies that supply once fired brass online that offer to clean it for a fee, but those companies have economies of scale in such things. Doing it yourself and what you would get out of it would not be worth your time IMO.

Re: once fire brass
So I should just save my money then on a tumbler? I wanna get the most back as possible so thats why I said about depriming and tumbling.

Re: once fire brass
Break down what JStem quoted. Price per 100 is literally a few bucks at best. The calibers you are offering are available everywhere and pretty cheap. Don't expect to get much. I reload and I find enough brass at my local ranges that I will likely never buy 5.56/.223 or 9mm. I pick up so much of the common calibers that I give it to friends or trade it for other calibers.
If you want to make a few bucks look for the less common stuff.

Re: once fire brass
Being in the ammunition bussiness I'll tell you that 9mm brass is worth about $20 per thousand plus shipping. I can find many examples of that on net in about a minute.
As for the .223/5.56 brass on a good day you should get $75 per thousand plus shipping. But that's going to be about the top of the market. I've found and bought alot lately for $60/k plus shipping or about $75 shipped.www.Steelvalleycasting.com is your new home for coated bullets and custom ammo.
