Re: Roll Call
The trick to living around here is one thing. SLOW DOWN. Compared to more congested areas of the state. Most people around here move a little slower, and appreciate the little things. That is what country living is all about.
If you like that kind of life. This area is great. I grew up Military Brat. Seen most of the world by the time I was 13. When my parents moved back to "Beaverdale" (population to small to put up a sign., and just check out that name) I almost died. I knew the end of the world had come. But now, I wouldn't leave this area.
Our job market does stink. But you will find that if you move out to edges of even Indiana. You can actually afford to live on a minimum wage job. Sure you not rich. But your not poor either. The cost of living is way lower than anything in Berks.
I worked in Levittown for a year building custom windows, and made decent money. I quit, moved back here and got a job delivering pizza, and had more money in my pocket after paying all the bills. Never left again.
Just remember, we aren't here for the EXCITEMENT.The American Revolution would never have happened with gun control....
The day they want my guns, they'll have to bring theirs!!!Proud to be One of the 3%

I'm in Armstrong County but only 8 miles from the Indiana county line. Member of Shelocta and C&K Sportsman's clubs. My son goes to IUP and works at Lowes. I really do all my business in Indiana.
The original point and click interface was a Colt Peacemaker!

Job market?? Hell no. Im a History Major. Not education, just history. However, I will be getting my commission in the Army, so I can go on to further my education later. I hope to be able to get a summer job at least so I can have a little nest egg to get into the real world with.
