N.J. gun control bill promoted by Gabby Giffords to get hearing

The bill (A4218) — which former U.S. Rep. Gabby Giffords (D-Arizona) advocated for in a March visit to Trenton — is scheduled for a hearing in the state Assembly Law and Public Safety Committee on Monday. It would require judges to order those convicted of a domestic violence offense to sell their guns to dealers or turn them over to law enforcement within 24 hours, among other things.

This is like either getting screwed or royally screwed, especially if later on the decision is overtuned due to new information. Then what?

Not really if you consider that they'd be willing to take all guns for no reason at all if they could find the votes to do it. Her space cadet husband Mark is in this for either some nice monetary kickbacks or a future political run. Maybe both, either way it keeps them in the spotlight.

I may be wrong , but don't yer guns get confiscated as soon as ya get arrested or a PFA is issued? Ya know whoever files the charges will tell the cops/judge "He owns lots of guns!"

Like an ex employee who got a PFA on her soon to be ex husband. Three days later she comes home from work opens up the back door to let the dogs out and he reaches in and grabs her pulls out into the backyard. He then used a butcher knife on her and the worst part the neighbors saw what was happening and went to help her but their two dogs wouldn't let them into the yard.

She knew he was going to kill her she even had cloths laid out she wanted buried in and had her will updated. The police told her that there was nothing they could do other than serve him with the PFA. If she saw him in the neighborhood she was to call 911.
