Re: saw a person openly carrying in norristown.
Normally, someone would ask the rhetorical question of "and nobody was shot/killed!?"
Being Norristown, that would be a legitimate question.
Joking aside, a person open carrying and nothing coming of it is more common here in PA than some transplants realize. Mostly, you wouldn't notice it unless you are looking for it.

Re: saw a person openly carrying in norristown.
We are around.
I open carried today, and will do so all weekend to honor Memorial Day. Not a single word from anyone, and I got a haircut, went grocery shopping, took our dog to petsmart, went for walks in the park.
Even attended a bbq at one of my best friends home. There were PA state troopers there, and the only comment I got was positive (Trooper said something to the effect of 'I'm glad I'm not the only one who ALWAYS brings a gun'). The Trooper wasn't a 'gun nut' type, but definitely positive about carry.
I think most people just don't notice it.

Re: saw a person openly carrying in norristown.
Was at Cycle Gear on Paxton Street in Harrisburg yesterday buying new helmets for me and my wife. Talked to a Honda rider sporting a nice 1911.
Side note on the way there from Chambersburg my wife asked "you are carrying aren't you"? I answered in the affirmative , she replied "well we are headed for Harrisburg".

Re: saw a person openly carrying in norristown.
Went to WA Wa in Blakslee last night alittle past midnight. Oc'ing my Walther P99 IWB with my shirt behind pistol. Three local cops were there hanging around the coffee area. My fiancee and I went to deli counter to get sandwiches. I did not look their way but knew they were checking me out. Got our sandwiches and left m we ate in side parking area by car. All three police cars drove slowly past us a few minutes apart. They kind of paused behind our car and then kept going. Not an issue...no check for LTCF because I was eventually getting back in my car...none of them stalked me from somewhere as we drove away. great job officers in Blakslee!
