    Default 44 Mag load?

Does anyone have a manual with any load data for 375 grain cast slugs? I've never seen that weight slug for a 44. Here's a Gunbroker auction for them:

    http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/Vie...Item=481044878

I contacted the seller and he said they're made using a custom mold most likely from Lyman but the serials didn't match up to any known mold. Just a heads up, I'm not looking to purchase these, I've just never seen anything like this before. Although it would be tempting to shoot one of them...

I think I would ask the seller, he may have had a pet load for them. The heaviest bullet weight I have published DATA for is 355gr. The heaviest I have personally loaded where 300gr xtp's. I used 15.5 grains of 2400 with them after starting with 14 grains and working up from there.

You could start by reducing a 355gr load by 10-20% and working up from there.

I seriously doubt those would fit in a revolver anyways.

With such long bullets, you're probably limited to single shot rifles/handguns. I doubt a lever action will allow them to cycle without modifications.

Unfortunately, the guy just casts them; he doesn't load em.

I was thinking the same thing. 340 gr buffalo bores are pushing it, much less something 35 grs bigger

That sounds more like an African game rifle bullet.

Maybe, but the .444 usually has a .432+ inch diameter as opposed to the .429 of the .44 mag

That's what I wondered. I didn't know much about that round. Thanks.
