Close Riding Paddle Holster Suggestions?
Can anybody recommend a paddle holster that rides tight, but not very high to the point the top of the holster flops outward? Looking for a paddle holster for CC for my Sig P229. I wear loose fitting shirts so the right paddle holster shouldn't be a problem CC-ing. Thanks!

Re: Close Riding Paddle Holster Suggestions?
I received a Fobus from another member here last week for a S&W Shield and wore it for the day. It was pretty comfortable and ride high and tight to the body. My other suggestion would be a Safari Land ALS especially if you wanted a level 1 or above retention system however they do not ride as close to your body.

I have an ALS for my Glock 30S. It's very comfortable, but sticks out a little too far for CC. It's perfect for open carry. I bought a GLS, and it rides okay. I'm not too impressed with its locking mechanism. Instead of designing a holster that fits many guns, Safariland should have designed several models that fit more specific guns.

Re: Close Riding Paddle Holster Suggestions?
I carried a Glock 23 for years in a Galco, thumb break, 3 slot. But, now I carry in a Fobus Paddle mainly because I take it off and put it on often throughout the day. I have found that the most important component to a rigid carry rig is the belt. Even good holsters will twist on an OK belt. Get one with a rigid insert and you will blend better than a milkshake :-)
Be safe (and keep a stiff, er, uh...belt line).

I do have a good gun belt. I have a Jake Belt by Theis holster. It's 2 layers of leather. It's just as strong as my older beltman bullhide belt. I did order an EDC belt from Original SOE Gear. I like how I can tighten it to the perfect spot. I should be getting it in a month or so.

For leather, check out the Mitch Rosen Premier.
Belt loops have snaps for easy on/off.
High quality leather, made to order, if need be.
My P245 has been riding in one, daily, for six years with no issues.
Close to body fit, and the pistol still fits snugly in the holster.

Another vote for fobus. Any time I pick up a new pistol, a fobus owb holster follows

I personally believe you will never find a paddle holster that rides as high & tight as a pancake holster. As noted in a post above, if you want leather I think a pancake with belt snaps is the way to go - Lew Alessi, Mitch Rosen, or Fist all make a high quality snapped pancake. FYI, I've carried your Sig's little brother, the P-239, in various leather for 15 years, excellent choice!
