Flying to NC, then driving back to PA via VA and WV.
Next month I will most likely be flying to Wilmington, NC to pick up a vehicle from a family member, the transfer of title will happen in NC. Ill be driving the vehicle back to Pittsburgh, PA though VA and WV.
I have a PA LTCF that is valid in all four states. Also my UT CFP is valid in all four states as well.
I will be flying US Air to Wilmington with a layover most likely in Charlotte or a very small possibility of Philadelphia.
According to USACarry.com NC is a duty to inform state and VA and WV are not.
My only small worry is with the US Air American merger US Air policy is strictly the federal standard where as American allows you to check a firearm if "You are traveling on American and Envoy Air Inc. operated flights" I'm worried that if I get on a contracted flight I may run afoul of their policies. I'm betting that booking on the phone and asking that question should resolve the situation though.
Any other gotchas I'm missing here?Last edited by QuackXP; April 13th, 2015 at 02:59 PM.

Don't speed and you have nothing to worry about. Been driving two or three times a year between Pittsburgh and Naples Fl since 1987 and I've never been stopped once.

Got a good case that can't be easily smashed open and locks that the TSA doesn't have a master key for?

Buy a new gun when you get to NC, avoid the plane trouble altogether. You do need a new gun don't you?
