Amtrak 30th St Station in Philly
I need to go the the 30th St station to buy train tickets for use on a later date. Only going to ticket window; not going near train gate area. Is CC ok, or a legal problem. If the latter, I'll risk walking Philly's Sts that day unarmed.

To my understanding it's not allowed but i have carried there before. I don't think there is much they can do other than tell you to leave

Why not just buy them online?

30thy Street Station is AMTRAK property and firearms are prohibited by policy. Violation, with proper notification, would be a trespass offense under Commonwealth statue (18 Pa CS 3503) as AMTRAK has the right to establish conditions of entry/use in their own right as a property owner/private corporation.

Re: Amtrak 30th St Station in Philly
The Supreme Court of the U.S. just ruled (http://www.nytimes.com/2015/03/10/bu...aste.html?_r=0) that Amtrak is a Government agency.
It doesn't change the situation at Philadelphia's 30th Street Station. If you're going to carry, do it discreetly.

Re: Amtrak 30th St Station in Philly
It also did so 20 years ago in Lebron:
Lebron v. National R.R. Passenger Corp. (93-1525), 513 U.S. 374 (1995)
An important part of the Lebron decision is:
The question before us today is unanswered, therefore, by governing statutory text or by binding precedent of this Court. Facing the question of Amtrak's status for the first time, we conclude that it is an agency or instrumentality of the United States for the purpose of individual rights guaranteed against the Government by the Constitution.
Now if a Heller type of decision expanded the 2A to public places then AMTRAK, for purposes of Constitutional Rights infringement, would be considered a Government actor and barred from making a no-firearms policy.Last edited by tl_3237; April 3rd, 2015 at 12:44 PM.

Thanks for the feedback guys. Even though I am in town off and on, it's probably a good idea to buy tickets online.
