full size 9mm for home/range? which one?
I have a few handguns in 380, 9, 40 , 45. I'm thinking of getting a full size 9mm for home defense and plinking at the range. $ range between 400-750 and minimum capacity of 15+1. I handled the VP9 with night sights the other day and really liked it and I also liked the xdm9. I don't own a Springfield, HK, FN or sig. I was also interested in nite owl firearms but no one has one to handle yet. One brand I'd like to avoid is walther. Any suggestions?

Lots of great pistols in that price range.
There is nothing wrong with a Sig 226 or if you want a striker fired pistol the HK VP9 is nice.

Glock 17 for striker fired. Sig P226 for DA/SA. The HK VP9 isn't actually a full size, (Full size grip/compact slide), but would also be a good choice.
You can't go wrong with any of the above.Last edited by IronButt; March 29th, 2015 at 12:49 PM.

Get a Glock 17. You can't go wrong with that choice. There is a reason everything else gets compared to it. I recently picked up a VP9 and it is a really awesome shooter. If it only held 17 rounds in a standard capacity mag like every other pistol of that size I'd have to say it was perfect. Maybe some day..............................
