Default full size 9mm for home/range? which one?

I have a few handguns in 380, 9, 40 , 45. I'm thinking of getting a full size 9mm for home defense and plinking at the range. $ range between 400-750 and minimum capacity of 15+1. I handled the VP9 with night sights the other day and really liked it and I also liked the xdm9. I don't own a Springfield, HK, FN or sig. I was also interested in nite owl firearms but no one has one to handle yet. One brand I'd like to avoid is walther. Any suggestions?

I'm waiting till next year to pick up the night owl in .40 I'm curious to see how they do though local boys and all. Saw and held the 9mm at the sportsmans show in Harrisburg.

Lots of great pistols in that price range.

There is nothing wrong with a Sig 226 or if you want a striker fired pistol the HK VP9 is nice.

Glock 17 for striker fired. Sig P226 for DA/SA. The HK VP9 isn't actually a full size, (Full size grip/compact slide), but would also be a good choice.

You can't go wrong with any of the above.

What do you currently carry? I like having my oh-shit guns to be somewhat, not exactly similar. For example, my primary carry piece is M&P compact so my HD handgun is a full size M&P. But I also carry a Glock G30s. I like them all to be striker fired, no safety or de-cocker to worry about one one gun and not the other.
