ar-15 need somebody to help with barrel install
I am trying to finish an upper build, and tried to get the barrel installed with an upper receiver block, ar-15 wrench and a few clamps I had around ( i have no vise!). I got the barrel on tight, but i can't get enough torque to line up the gas tube hole My clamps aren't tight enough to let me tighten it up.
im hoping some kind soul will lend me the 90 seconds required to tighten this up. Yes I can give some cash if needed, however i can get a used vise for about $20-$30, and im trying to avoid that
i live right in Lancaster city, hopefully somebody is close and is willing to help ?

Re: ar-15 need somebody to help with barrel install
I have a jerry rigged system that holds the lower tight through the magwell and has allowed me to mount the upper and remove/install barrels and castle nuts without a hitch. Im comfortable using it on my own stuff but hesitant with other peoples property. If you get desperate enough and want to try it out you are more than welcome to stop by any evening around 8. I have the torque wrench and AR tool so unless its a special barrel nut you should just need to bring your upper. We can use one of my lowers. PM me here if interested and we'll work out the details. Im just outside the city, off of Lampeter road.

Re: ar-15 need somebody to help with barrel install
+1 for replying and your offer to help, but i am good to go now. I was in a pinch and called lanco tactical in e-town, who said "sure bring it over and we'll help you out." very cool guys, i bought a few other parts i needed while there, including a bunch of those take down detents that I keep launching all over my basement. They didn't charge me for the 30 seconds it took to finish torquing on the barrel nut.

They do seem very nice there, I stopped in after Trops and they had lots of ar build stuff and a great attitude. Good deal getting your barrel installed.
