Default End of an era (end of Valley Forge Gun Shows)

Email came in today from management....the Valley Forge Gun Show which had been at the sports complex in Warminster is done for good. They thank all for past attendance.

Can you post the email? I didn't get it. I'm curious as to why. Did the cave to MOM'S?

Most likely due to lack of interest. I stopped going to that one years ago after it moved out of Valley Forge. The one at Oaks is closer and easier to get to.

After the last one, I was pretty sure that it was dying fast. Few dealers, less interest in the crowd that was there. I'm sorry to see it go, but I'm not sure that I was even going to try to go to it again anyway.

I live in Warminster and only went there once. Not a big fan of being around Warminster cops with guns in their hands, especially MY gun! Not kidding, half of them are corrupt, the other half are idiots, and a few are murderers!

No surprise...I went to one in Warminster last year. It was pretty weak compared to the shows that were actually in V.F.

One time I went and only half of the Sportsplex was occupied by the gun show. The old VF gun shows were a lot better.

I don't see the attraction to gun shows in the first place, I haven't been to one I enjoyed in 20 years. Ammo prices are crazy, firearm prices are equally as crazy, the only reason would be for some obscure part on some obscure gun that one of those old timers might have laying around. Other than that, they're not worth the price of admission IMO.

I always thought the Oaks gun show was the old VF gun show just moved over to Oaks.

Different promoters. Original VF Show ended once the casino started construction and had to move to Warminster. The Oaks show, which had been somewhat smaller and less well attended, went from living in VF's shadow to being the big dog on campus and subsequently took over as the area's biggest show.
