    Default CoCo Wheats with Protection

    CoCo Wheats. Mmmmmmm...

I ran out of them last week but got another box pronto.
Sometimes nothing hits the spot like a nice, hot bowl of CoCo Wheats - and a pair of kel-Tecs.

P-32 .32ACP (left with grip sleeve) and P-3AT .380ACP (right with mag finger extension)

They're almost identical in size with the P-3AT being only slightly more "robust" looking in the slide area.

    (apologies for the harsh lighting)

    Boil water...

    Stir in CoCo Wheats...

Add sugar - lots of sugar...

Stir in a little milk for added yumm factor...

    Enjoy!

CoCo Wheats? Never heard of it. Is it something like Tasty Wheat?

    I was right - commies!

Who the hell doesn't know what CoCo Wheats are??? It's "Cream of Wheat" but with cocoa! Mmmmmmmmm...

    CoCo Wheats®

The creamy hot cereal with the cocoa treat®.
CoCo Wheats was introduced in 1930 with the belief that hot cereal could
taste good, and be good for you.
Kids love the warm cocoa taste and moms love the fortified nutrition.
    CoCo Wheats:

    • Enriched with calcium, plus 5 vitamins and iron
    • Made with wheat farina and pure breakfast cocoa
    • No added salt or sugar

I'll be damned. Had no idea what Co Co Wheats was but hey, it got me to click the link. Is that one of those things where it's "part of a balanced breakfast" as long as you eat a grapefruit, two apples and a slice of whole whole wheat toast with it?

Oh, and nice Kel-Tecs. I wouldn't personally admit to owning two, but that's just me!

Must be a 'burgh thing. I grew up in between Philly and Lancaster and all we had was good ol' Farina.

I feel a deep sadness for you guys having not known the warm, chocolaty goodness of CoCo Wheats on a cold winter morning.
It's like growing up without a puppy or a bicycle.

I guess I've been eating it since about 1970 and just assumed it was available everywhere, but apparently not.
In a bit of Googling I discovered that it was a Little Crow Foods product since it was introduced in 1930 and then it was bought by MOM Brands foods in 2012/13. (the people who make Malt O Meal bagged cereals and such)

I looked at the product locator on their website and it appears that the only place that currently sells it in Pittsburgh is Giant Eagle stores. (I grew up outside of Johnstown BTW)

I also found it on Amazon for a ridiculously high price. I started reading the reviews and found this...

(5 star rating) You can not find this item in the eastern part of Pennsylvania. I went to Pittsburgh at the beginning of the year and saw this item in a grocery store and bought 2 boxes. I could not believe it because I thought they stopped making it. We moved to the Philadelphia area about 30 years ago. I decided to order some from Amazon and I was glad I did. I love this cereal. I am 60 years of age but I love my coco wheats.
You guys don't know what you're missing!
