S&W M&P Pros VS Cons
I will soon be buying a full size Smith & Wesson M&P 45. I have had the M&P 9full size for or 5 years and I love it! What should I expect from the 45?
What are your experiences?
What are the pros?
What are the cons?
Thanks, Isaac

Re: S&W M&P Pros VS Cons
It's the same gun you already have, except it shoots .45ACP. Same reliability, same everything. Slight difference in recoil. It will be more of push than a snap.

Re: S&W M&P Pros VS Cons
I have a M&P45c with the Apex Ultimate Strike Block in it. The trigger is much smoother now. The M&P is the first compact gun I've ever picked up and had the sights line right up, this thing really fits my hands well. I like that the 45c is a little larger than the 9 or 40c. So far I have no complaints about it. Its my IWB carry piece now. I use Critical Defense ammo with no problems. Its snappy for a 45, but its a smaller gun than the rest of my 45s so thats all I have to compare it to. I would guess that the full-size version would be even nicer to shoot.

one difference. the m&p 45 has a longer barrel than the 9 and 40 in fullsize. if you plan on using kydex, odds are, won't work.

I like the M&P line. I'm not a Glock fanboy. I know you asked about the full size. I have the compact M&P and Gock 30 and 30S. The Glocks are smaller with more rounds. The 30S is the best of the lot for carry.

Re: S&W M&P Pros VS Cons
PROS:
Good ergonomics
Good factory sight pic
Metal sights
Tons of aftermarket accessories
Light weight
Simple break down for cleaning
Metal guide rod
Button rifling to shoot lead
Made in USA
Comfortable to shoot
Adjustable for any hand size
CONS:
Trigger sux. It's fairly heavy. I don't care about reset but it's not very pronounced. It can be gritty but mine isn't.
Mags at one point were really hard to get and going for $100
I'm sure there's a few more but it's 4:30am and I can't think of any. They're fantastic guns I like them.

$100 for a mag, holy crap! I'm glad I've never seen those prices. If you are looking for a IWB holster for the M&P, or any pistol for that matter, check out http://www.concealmentsolutions.com/index.html those holsters are great. Very comparable to Crossbreed but do not take any where near as long to get. Some people have video reviews of them on YouTube.
If you are having problems getting mags for them try CDNN http://www.cdnnsports.com they always seem to have them for $30-40 and sometimes on sale for less.Your web muscles do not frighten me.

Re: S&W M&P Pros VS Cons
I like the m&p pistols, despite what people say about the trigger. I've shot Glock s with aftermarket triggers. Don't see the big whoop about them.
I love the smell of gunpowder in the morning.[
