Default Revolver Trade Question -Advice Sought

Bought a SP-101 in 32, H&R magnum. Have shot it very little. I have had no problems finding ammo and I like the way it shoots. I paid $500 for it NIB.

At the same LGS where I bought it, along comes another SP-101, this one used but like new in .327. It is priced $500 out the door. (actually, a very good price) As many of you know this will swallow the same cartridges as my .32 mag and plus the .327 as well, giving it the advantage of handling a slightly more powerful round than I can now shoot.

So, my mind says, "consider a trade" plus cash. Problems is, seems like I'd only get AT BEST half of my initial $500 investment back.

I am wondering if the $$$ difference + gun is really worth the switch to .327.

    Any opinions?

Put the magnum on layaway until you can sell your gun privately. You'll get more for it. And yes, I too would want the upgrade.

You could also check with a gunsmith to see how much it would cost and if it's safe to have your H&R reamed out to accept the Federal cartridge.

Buy the Federal magnum and sell the H&R privately if you can swing it.

I agree with the rest of the forum. No way would I make the trade. Gun shops are in the business to make money. This is pretty much a Captain obvious statement. However with most of us who buy guns, we at one time or another have no trouble justifying a bad deal.

I DOUBLED CHECKED the NO LAY-A-WAY policy and they said that for $50.00 they will hang on to it for me for 3 months.

Now I have got some thinking to do.

    Thank you for your suggestion...

Wait, no layaway but for 10% down they'll hold it for three months so you can buy it. That's a layaway lol.

Pro-tip. If you're going to list it in the classifieds for more than you paid for it, don't tell us how much you paid for it
