My safe may be a cheap Field & Stream , but it was the only one at Dick's that was a regular manual dial safe.
I refuse to buy the electronic safes

I think Sturdy will make you a safe with two locks as an option - one dial and one electronic.

Which one did you get? Is tractor supply the only place to get them ?
I bought the 10 gun size and I probably should have gone larger.

This is true. And you can even get a hardplate installed which makes it damn near impossible to drill them.

There are actually very few competent companies that offer electronic or standard dial safe locks... LaGard being one of them, and S&G being the other. Both are excellent companies and both pretty much control 99% of the gun safe lock market (with a few exceptions).

I'm glad I bought a quality safe & don't have stupid problems. The more I look at other gun safes....the more I like my Sturdy safe.

The Winchester 24 Gun offers 2.7 cubic feet more interior space, a great door organizer, no wait time, and a price tag that's literally $1,700 less than the comparable Sturdy Safe. With that extra cash I was able to upgrade the lock on the Winchester and install an excellent security and camera system that will have the police to my residence LONG before an experienced safe cracker could defeat the Winchester . . . with cash leftover. So I'm still ahead and pleased with my decision, even after I had to rectify a stupid problem.

Layered security is always better, as long as your security system can't be disconnected.

That being said, there won't be any "safe cracker." They'll smash/cut/pry that thing open in minutes if they have any tools and give it a good go.

If you have a infallible police connection and reliable response then that doesn't matter as much.

All safes do is make a thief think "do I want to take the time to get in there?" I don't care if you have a company of Janissaries guarding your guns, someone could get them if they were determined enough.

Without getting into the details of my system or the incredibly fast response times I've experienced from false alarms, I'm comfortable saying that I doubt I have to worry about the kind of crew with the necessary tech and experience to beat my system. That said, if money is no object, there are ALWAYS better safes and better security systems out there to choose from.
