Fearful NJ Parents Freak Out, Trigger Lockdown Over School Play Prop

New Jersey is afraid of it’s own shadow.

A prop gun sparked a brief lockdown at Northern Valley Regional High School in Demarest, New Jersey, police say.

A student came to school on Knickerbocker Road this morning carrying a prop rifle for the school’s production of Hello Dolly, police said.

Some parents saw her and thought the gun was real, and they alerted authorities.

Police identified the girl within 10 minutes of responding to the scene.
I had a very similar toy gun as a kid, and when you “cycled” the bolt, you could see the gold-painted wooden bullet in the chamber. Somehow I got through elementary school without slaughtering everyone with it.

I'm sorry to say that these days the same thing could happen in any state in the union. It ain't limited to NJ.

I did my senior presentation on how to reload shotgun shells when I lived in the People's Republik. I brought shot, red dot powder, wads, hulls and a live round into class. I even lit some powder to show that it wasn't explosive. I got an A.

Miss Walsh's only concern was that I didn't light her coat on fire. Wouldn't have minded some after school extra credit with her. She was a hottie.

Yep. Could happen here just as easily. And if a parent saw a kid carrying a rifle into school and a massacre happened we'd be screaming that the parent was an idiot for not reporting that to the police.

Of course this again proves the case that police cannot protect us. It took over ten minutes for them to respond and find the student. Could have been a lot of dead kids by then if it was real. Need to get rid of gun free zones.

Yes we do. Common sense and discretion has been replaced by blanket zero tolerance policies that perpetuate the progressive statist agenda.
