Field & Stream Safe issue

Let me start off with a good 'ole fuck Dick's!

Anywho, I bought this safe for next to nothing off a co-worker, as a temporary solution until I move to a permanent location (in the house buying process actually). It has served its purpose for what it is.

However, just yesterday I noticed that when I try to turn the combination dial, I have to apply pressure on the handle in a counter-clockwise direction, or the dail gets jammed up. Once the combo is entered, and I release the bolts, I can turn the handle an additional 10* or so.

I have no clue if something is just coming lose in there, or perhaps something is wearing out. Just figured I'd see if anyone has some insight before I call a locksmith out and pay out the wazoo for a house call.

In my defense, this was purchased before the whole fiasco haha. Also, it cannot leave my possession soon enough. I need it gone before my guns contract some disease and decide not to work anymore from being inside.
