Default Altoona Gun Show, Feb. 7th, 8th

    http://www.cegunshows.com/ShowInfo/A...1/Default.aspx

Anyone have any info on this show? Worth stopping by? I'll be in the area anyway and I'd like to check it out if it's worth it.

I have been a couple times.
It is not a Harrisburg or Monroeville show, but is not bad if you are close. I think it took my dad and I maybe a half hour-ish to walk around the show.
Pretty decent selection of random gun items from AR platform to hunting rifles to semi auto pistols to revolvers.
Not a huge selection, but varied enough to keep my interest.

There is a $1 off entrance coupon online you can print out too.

Nothing special. Spend the $8 on something else.

Was in Altoona on other business and checked out the show Saturday. Easily 25% of the vendors were non-gun related stuff like kitchen remodelers, Bath Fitter, purses, crocheted items, Chinese knives, raffles, etc.

And not one but TWO fudge dealers.

Not a total loss as I found a nice H&R 410 single shot being walked around and we agreed on $65, but I won't be going back again even if in the area.

The C&E people called me last week to see if I was going to set-up at this show. I told them I wasn't sure due to some health issues I wasn't sure would clear up by the weekend. Apparently the dealer bookings were way down and they were trying to shake the bushes a bit for vendors. Weather, illness and the "I think this show's going to suck from a business standpoint." attitude was making a number of folks less than enthusiastic about being there.

A couple dealers I know said they weren't going to bother as they didn't want to waste their time and set-up fees. One of their regular dealers who gets quite a few tables just had open heart surgery. I backed out at the last minute as I have a nasty case of bronchitis and a head cold to boot. I hate winter.
