Dauphin County Administration Building posted?
Anyone know if the Dauphin County Administration Building at 2 South 2nd Street in Harrisburg is off-limits to firearms? I'm not sure what all is in there so I don't know if it qualifies as a prohibited "court facility" under § 913.

I've never been there but will take a look next time I venture into The Wild Lands.

If it is, but is not posted as such per statute, it's a defense to the commission of a violation (assuming you don't already know it is, which in this case you don't).
Of course, I'm sure you'd rather avoid that possibility.Get your "Guns Save Lives" stickers today! PM for more info.

Yeah, I'm not looking for a fight; just trying to be both safe and legal.
I actually drove by it today but couldn't safely read what was on the door, and had the kids with me so it wasn't convenient to stop. Google Street View is too fuzzy to read what the doors say. (And the door signage wouldn't definitively answer my question anyway.)I am not a lawyer. Nothing I say or write is legal advice.

Re: Dauphin County Administration Building posted?
Ok, I was there recently and the answer is it appears it's treated as if it were a "court facility". I wasn't carrying at the time (had just come from the post office) so it wasn't an issue, but the entrance was guarded by a sheriff's deputy with a metal detector. There appeared to be a set of lockers for checking handguns behind the security desk, but I didn't inquire about their use since it wasn't relevant at the time.
Just an update for anyone who may go searching for this info later.I am not a lawyer. Nothing I say or write is legal advice.

I work in the County Admin Bldg. If you carry when you come in, you just check it in with the guard and claim it when you leave. No biggie. Same with knives, Mace, etc...
