    Default M1 Garand

Who would want a 60 year old, heavy, obsolete rifle like this? Me. So I got two.
This is as out of the box.
Service grade Harrington and Richardson 1950 era caliber .30 M1 Garand rifle.
You can get one FedEx right to your door starting at $495.00 for rack grade from the Civilian Marksmanship Program. All you need to do is to become a member of RWVA, attend an Appleseed shooting event, save your country, send in the forms and payment.

How about that! Help save your country with Appleseed and get an Garand
    to boot!

Holy smokes that's cool! so jealous.

Quick question on CMP if you don't mind...

If I'm prior service I fullfilled the participation requirement for CMP, but I still gotta join a CMP affiliated club, correct?

Can i just pay for a membership, get my membership card and send in a copy of my discharge papers and membership card for one of these?

Beautiful rifle. Add more pics if you can.

Join the Garand Collectors Association online- they have (had) a computer database of the members at the North Store. It took about a week for the receipt to come in the mail, they don't do cards, the receipt has your member number on it. Take that to Perry with you, you're good.

Thanks for the tip! Joining today.

B964 if you can post more pics I'd love to see them. I've seen a "rack grade" Garand and i'm not really interested in that. I'd like something in better condition.

I joined the PA Pistol & Rifle Assoc. so that I could purchase from CMP. However, it turned out that PMSC which I ended up joining is also a valid club.

You will also need a copy of your birth certificate or passport.

All information can be found at www.odcmp.com

btw that is one nice rifle you got there. congrats

Join the RWVA. Attend an Appleseed and learn some things you may not know about the Garand and the men of the Revolution that gave us the chance to own this fine rifles. If you are allready an expert shot, join and get into the instructor program. It is the best way to bring more rifle owners into the voting pool.

I will take some more pictures today of the two of them.

BTW I sent a note with the order forms that I was wishing for shooters over collectors. Other than buying a new M1A, these two rifles are as close to new as you can get for 60 years old. I can't imagine what the correct grade would look like. On second thought I should have asked for one of each. Guess I will just have to order another one.

The middle one is the one that is cleaned up ready to go this weekend.
Looks like one of these boys picked up a commie girlfriend while overseas.
