First DuraCoat Experiance
I collect Rohm revolvers (yes, I know they're cheap - I just like them, have 7 of them so far )
I picked up an RG-31 chambered in .32 S&W Long on Gunbroker for $12.76 (big spender)
The gun appeared to function fine but had zero finish on it. I took it completely apart, cleaned it and applied DuraCoat semi-gloss black.
Didn't turn out too bad for my first DuraCoat job on a sub $13 gun

Re: First DuraCoat Experiance
First nice job ,second a word of advice for coating revolvers with ceramic coatings, they do not work on revolvers - gunkote, duracoat and cerakote will all burn off the front edge of the cylinder due to escaping gases between the barrel and cylinder. Duracoat lasts about 220 rounds gunkote about 300 and cerakote fails at about 440 rounds of shooting. I know because I have used them all and tested them for durability, that is why we don't coat revolvers at EFR because I don't want the customer to waste their money. Now if you are doing it with the intent to not really use it you will be fine. Again nice work!

Re: First DuraCoat Experiance
Thanks and you guessed correctly, this revolver will not see much use. I'm going to give the DuraCoat a few more days to cure then run 6 to 12 rounds through it to make sure all is still good. After that, it goes in the safe. I am actually working on building a display case for the Rohms. Eventually I'll mount them in the case and hang them on the wall in my gun room.

Re: First DuraCoat Experiance
Duracoat needs 24 days to reach a full cure because it is an enamel based ceramic system before shooting for your best results.
