How many tables? And is there a lot of junk at this show?

Re: Pottstown Sunnybrook Ballroom - MODERN FIREARMS SHOW
I went last year and really enjoyed it.
Small venue, cozy. Dozens of tables, not hundreds like Oaks. No pickles or jerky, just guns and stuff.
I remember only one knife dealer and he was selling real knives, not crates of Chinese novelty knives.
It was not crowded and I was able to browse in comfort. I found it well worth the $6 and will probably go again this year. Break up the winter a bit.

Re: Pottstown Sunnybrook Ballroom - MODERN FIREARMS SHOW
This show should have around 200 tables, according to the promoter's site (thegunshows.com). Vendors should be strongly gun- and knife-related.
This will be only the second show by this promoter at this venue. We're hoping it will become successful as Leesport (same promoter - Appalachian Promotions). He does a good job advertising, and he attracts good vendors.
The only other show in the southeastern/central PA area is in Carlisle, quite a distance west. That should also ensure a good turnout of vendors at this show.
There was some concern at the last show at Pottstown that too many people thought it was going to be the Antique Gun Show that was held at Sunnybrook years ago. Help spread the word that it will not be limited to pre-1898 weapons, and will include all types of firearms, bulk ammunition, optics, parts, accessories, knives, and more.
See you there...

I plan to go. Wonder what the snow will do to the attendance.

Re: Pottstown Sunnybrook Ballroom - MODERN FIREARMS SHOW
Just got back. Nice small show. Powder/reloading guy was a no-show this time; main reason I went. They ask at admission if you have a firearm and want you to clear it. Mag in pocket, no zip ties, no pat down. Something to do on a crappy Saturday. I'm not too far away, but wouldn't recommend it if you have a longer drive(but attendance will keep it recurring). Wait for Oaks next month, it's only $3 more.

Re: Pottstown Sunnybrook Ballroom - MODERN FIREARMS SHOW
I went to the first show a couple of months back and it was much better than this one. I got there around 10:00. Maybe 30 cars in the lot. No powder guy[bummer] and some empty tables. I talked with a buddy who was there that said the afternoon picked up a little when everyone got shoveled out. I think the weather had a lot to do with the turnout, both vendors and buyers. When you consider that most vendors use trailers and may have a few hours of travel time I cant fault them for not showing up if they were checking out the forecast. I really hope that this show succeeds. About the size of the Leesport show and it is close to home.
I have so many toys because my wife wont let me have a girlfriend.......

Re: Pottstown Sunnybrook Ballroom - MODERN FIREARMS SHOW
Did go as promised. It is an attractive ballroom setting but man it needs more light. Oaks is a zoo compared to this. Much more relaxed but limited selection obviously. Ammo was expensive. A box of 45 cost $25 and up. I pick them up for $20 at Oaks. More long guns than handguns. Prices weren’t too bad but then I wasn’t looking to buy. Saw a few going through PICS so some selling was going on. Having seen the ballroom setting I think there is a market for a bit upscale gun show.
