Re: To All Carbon County Shooters!
Really? Its great with 300 yard range... but its certainly not pistol friendly. Joined 3 years ago but still go elsewhere. MUCH nicer is Bowmanstown Rod and Gun. Pacific setting nestled in the woods. Also have a totally excellent Blackpowder set up, great bar and restaurant.
if you ever see my post edited...its most likely for speling :D

Re: To All Carbon County Shooters!
Hello Nunsa1371 and Archiver....I just moved to Carbon County after 14 yrs in the Army, career ending injury, and was looking for a good range. I shoot black powder w/ the NSSA and glad to see there is a good set up at one of the ranges. I also have other toys I like to shoot and would like to ask for the help if I need it. Nunsa1371....Thanks for serving!

I've belonged to the Palmerton Rod and Gun Club off and on forever. I recently joined Bowmanstown because frankly, I do not enjoy shooting at Palmerton. I can never get the range to myself. I hate sharing the range. I hate the fence. Those of us that are not retired have a limited time window.
The best shooting I've had recently was out at state college on the game commission ranges. They even actually let you shoot clays out there, which is what I love.

Re: To All Carbon County Shooters!
I want to take my wife to the state range on the Broad Mtn. to shoot since she is not a member at Bowmanstown. Could someone give me the rundown on that range? Is it nice? Is it usually full? Thanks in advance!

Re: To All Carbon County Shooters!
I have not been there since last yr being that I joined a private range, but I still know people that go. it is usually busy on weekends, more so close to hunting season. If you do go make sure one of you stay with your firearms and eq. for a while I was told by others using this range that the rif-raf in the area was going there and when you went down range to replace your target good by eq. And most of these NYC, Jersey clowns thought what they saw in the movies was real, made for a very dangerous situation.

Re: To All Carbon County Shooters!
It's clean, and has a 25 and 50 yard pistol range, and 100, 200, and 300 yard rifle. I found the best times to go is in the am. The rif-raf are usually too hung over to get up and go early. Week days aren't too bad either. They just re-did the place so it looks a lot better than last year. I am going tomorrow afternoon, after my dr's appt. Should be there around 1, if you are going tomorrow. I'll be in a white explorer, most likely.
Have fun, Let me know when you plan to take the wife. Maybe we could meet up one day.

Re: To All Carbon County Shooters!
Thank you guys for the info. I kinda figured it would get busy on the weekends. That sucks cause thats the only time we would both have time to hit the range together. I will def post on here when we are heading up there and maybe a few of us could meet up there. Thanks again guys! Matt
