How did the weather treat you this year?
It seems as if every time I got to go out, the weather was against me. It either rained hard or snowed. We got run out of WV on the second day by snow (Had to get out while we still could). In PA, it rained so hard the one day that my coat could not absorb any more water and I had about an inch of water in my coat pockets. A few times I got out and it snowed so hard that nothing was moving. The last day I could get out it had snowed during the night and tapered to flurries. I cut some fresh tracks, followed, and got a doe. I finally lucked out and got some decent weather. I am a firm believer that deer(Older) can pick out orange under some conditions. I think that on cloudy, dark, overcast days orange stands out to deer. On the other hand, in snow you are almost invisible to them, especially camo orange in the snow and laurel. Whatever your thoughts, the weather sure can make or break a hunt for deer.

Re: How did the weather treat you this year?
My schedule is flexible enough that I was able to hunt around bad weather. Actually Saturday (12/13/14) was the worst day we hunted, with non-stop 20 MPH winds, temp was right at 30. There were plenty of early archery hunts that I was in the stand in a long sleeve t shirt.

Re: How did the weather treat you this year?
I had some warm wet days, some cold single digit days, some snowing sideways days and everything in between. I like the days right after a big storm front. The deer tend to hunker down in the nasty stuff and have no choice but to get up and eat when it gets nice. This usually involves fresh snow and the ability to track.

Rained like hell last Saturday. Spent the whole night getting moisture out of every nook and cranny of my rifles.

One of the wettest deer seasons I can remember.
Still had fun being with my friends.

For me the worst thing was the wind. I see deer in rain or snow, but wind not much.

Re: How did the weather treat you this year?
AHHHH. This.
I didn't go out on the real rainy days. Goretex does help but if it's too bad, I bag it and look at the local forecast for any break in the weather.
Same thing for extended archery since I'm not a muzzle guy.
I'll still be looking for one of the big boys behind the nouse if it's not too bad. I can string a 100 foot extension cord to my tree for a heating pad if it's just single digits but being in a tree gets more difficult with lower temps.
If a smaller legal buck happens by then, I'll probably pull the trigger. If not, there may be some bigger racked bucks back there next year.Opinions are like anal apertures. They all stink but mine.
