Positive Encounter.......in PHILLY!

Went to the doctors a few days ago for a checkup. I was open carrying my firearm, but had a longer coat on, so it was covered up.

The doc said I should get some blood work done and an EKG. At this point, I'm a little worried the nurse might freak out, as she asked me to take off my shirt. I told her "Hey, just a heads up, I am carrying a firearm...I dont want you to be surprised when I take my shirt off". She said "Oh, cool! I'm going to have to ask you to take it off for my safety, though....as I need to run these EKG wires near your gun. You can put it wherever you feel comfortable or in an empty drawer in my desk over there". While I felt safe with it on my hip, I did disarm because I didn't want a cable tugging on it.

I was just a little surprised she was so cool about it (as she should be).

So...yep. Thats my story.

Seems to me if your coat was over it that would be classified as concealed. Just make sure you have the LTCF, especially in that sh!thole called Philly.

I guess I am wired differently because I had an EKG last week while my Kahr was holstered on my hip. The nurse didn't say anything about it this time. She mentioned it once before, saying how she thought it was a good idea to be armed.

In Philly it doesn't matter, open or concealed, a LTCF is required for both.

How do they get away with this? Won't the new law make that even "more illegal" than it already is?
